Keely Book a walk-through

Who it's for · Powerboat schools

Full RIB weekends, with every form signed before the briefing

Powerboat Level 2 dates sell on your own website, day and night. Everyone on a group booking gets their own form, and a parent signs for anyone under 18. Keely warns you before a RIB or an instructor with something out of date goes on a course.

  • £150 a month + 1.5% of bookings paid online
  • Nothing on cash or bank-transfer payments

Group bookings

One person books four places

A dad books a weekend for his family and a friend. Keely keeps him as the buyer and sends each of the four their own medical and next-of-kin form. Under-18s need a parent's signature, and Keely asks for it.

On the morning, the instructor has a crew list for each RIB with emergency contacts. Nobody is filling in a clipboard on the pontoon.

Powerboat Level 2, four places. Mark Ellis booked and paid, but is not on the course. He gets the receipt; each person gets their own form. Lucy is 14, so a parent signs: her reminder went at 09:00, and the office didn't have to chase.

Powerboat Level 2 for one student, as Keely runs it. The office steps in only when something needs a person.

A gift voucher is sold

Someone buys Powerboat Level 2 as a present on your website. The voucher is used at checkout when a date is chosen, and you can see what is still owed against vouchers.

The day before

17:00

RIBs and instructors checked

Each RIB has its own list: flares, first aid kit, engine service, and anything you add, such as kill cords. Put a RIB or an instructor with something out of date on the course and Keely warns you and asks for a reason.

A warning when assigning a boat with an engine service out of date, asking for a reason.
The real screenThe same warning for every RIB and instructor: something is out of date, so Keely asks for a reason and keeps it.

Day one

08:30

Who's ready

One screen shows who has arrived, whose forms are done and who still owes money. Medical notes are shown only to the office and that course's instructor.

Day two

16:30

Signed off on a phone

The instructor records attendance and the outcome. The student sees it in their logbook. You still register the RYA certificate in the RYA's own system.

The day after

10:00

SRC and first aid, next

A follow-up email offers the courses that usually come next, such as SRC and first aid. Next time, they can go in the same basket as a powerboat course.

No RIB goes out with a check out of date unless someone decides it can

Each RIB has its own list: engine service, kill cords, flares, first aid kit and the trailer, each with its next date. Put a RIB with something out of date on a course and Keely warns you and asks for a reason, and keeps the answer on record.

    Questions

    What powerboat schools ask us

Can we add a date quickly when a group asks for one?

Yes. Add the date and its places and it shows on your website straight away. If the group books by phone, build the order in the office and send them a link to pay.

    Who registers the RYA certificates?

You do, in the RYA's own system, as you do now. Keely keeps your school's own records: attendance, the outcome and a numbered completion record.

Can we sell SRC, first aid and kit alongside Powerboat Level 2?

Yes. Courses, books and kit go in the same basket, and a gift voucher can be used against any of them.

What happens when we cancel for wind?

You choose a refund, credit or a new date for each student, and Keely records it against the booking. Students can pick the new date themselves, or the office moves the booking in one step.
